Colors: Robert Atkins

Betcha didn't expect to see GI Joe in my gallery any time soon!

was kind enough to lend me some of his work to practice coloring! I always thought it would be cool to try doing some more mainstream comics in my coloring style. I planned to try a more fully-rendered version later, but ended up being busy with that Mango pitch.

Then Robert came to give a talk here at SCAD and I got a chance to show him the colors, which he was super positive about! He also gave a really cool lecture about panel layouts and marketing yourself, as well as different income streams for comic artists. He also talked about some of his paneling philosophy which is so involved and awesome that I feel like a chump. He is a real American hero, yo.

Eff I love coloring strong linework. Nothing is more soothing.
